Dinner this evening is informal followed by entertainment in the Observation Car. | | Day 2 | Scotland | This morning the Royal Scotsman passes Stirling and Perth, following a picturesque route along the River Awe north to Blair Atholl to visit the House of Bruar, Scotland's most prestigious country store. Within the house you will find country clothing halls, cloth room, cashmere hall, library, china, glass and gifts. This afternoon visit Ballindaloch Castle, the much-loved home of the MacPherson-Grant's. Dinner this evening is formal. | | Day 3 | Scotland | Today's first visit is to the Highland Wildlife Park, home to indigenous animals and birds. Continue north through Culloden Moor to Inverness. Visit the picturesque village of Plockton, situated on the shores of Loch Carron. After a formal dinner this evening, Mary Strachan entertains with her Clarsach (a Celtic harp). | | Day 4 | Scotland | Your day begins with a visit to the Isle of Skye. Learn about the island's harsh history and Gaelic culture before heading east to Keith to visit Strathisla Distillery for a tour and a sample of some of its products. Afterwards, the train follows the east coast to Dundee. Dinner this evening is formal. | | Day 5 | Scotland | Your tour draws to a close as the train sets off on the final leg of its journey south back to Edinburgh. Arrive in Edinburgh at approximately 9:25am. You may choose to extend your vacation in Scotland with a selection of hotels provided by DER. |
